At
Gateway-DR we believe in making the upgrade to digital as painless
and worry free as possible. That is why we have perfected our
system over the past 2 1/2 years with the things we have learned
from previous installations and customer feedback.
We
know that you have several options to choose from when making the
decision to go digital.
There is a lot of information here, but this is a big investment for
you and your practice. We would like you to be informed as much as
possible before you spend tens of thousands of dollars. Please read
through all of the information and call or email if any additional
information is needed.
Grid
|
Gateway-DR:
-
178 LPI,
10:1 Ratio, 40-72 FD
-
Higher LPI
(lines per inch) provides “cleaner” images with no grid
lines.
-
10:1 Ratio
gives a better contrast then the 8:1 ratio.
-
40”-72” FD
(Focal Distance) allows for exposures to be made at 40”
or 72”. The 34”-44” FD grid is to be used with 40”
exposures only.

Naomi-DR:
-
103 LPI,
8:1 Ratio, 34-44 FD

Wall Stand Bracket / Grid Cabinet (To hold sensor)
Gateway-DR
Gateway-DR Sensor is
already mounted in the cabinet along with the grid and cover plate.
The grid is protected, by being mounted on the inside of the
cabinet.
You will just have to hang the grid cabinet over existing wall
stand. All cables will already be connected. Software is also
preloaded and calibration is completed before shipping.
Just add counter weights (provided) to wall stand column to ensure
proper counterbalancing.
The grid cabinet can be easily lifted off the wall stand and placed
on a table or floor for extremities or other views. The cover plate
is strong enough for a 300 lb. person to stand on. Centering lines
for proper collimation are also printed on cover plate.
Naomi- DR
Naomi DR’s wall hanging bracket leaves the sensor and grid
unprotected. If the sensor is removed from the bracket to do
extremities, the grid will have to be removed first or else it will
fall off. There is also nothing to protect the sensor in case it is
dropped.
The sensor and grid are not designed for any weight bearing
procedures, and would cause damage to both components if attempted.
There is also no way of knowing if the patient is centered with this
system’s setup, because there are no centering lines on the grid.
Both systems will add
weight to the existing wall stand, which means the counter balancing
of the wall stand will no longer be even. It will now be about 25
pounds heavier, which makes it harder to raise up and will also fall
very fast to the floor when the lock is released.
Gateway DR provides the
additional lead weight needed for proper counter balancing. This
weight is included with every Gateway-DR system.
Acquisition Computer
for Gateway-DR System
Every Gateway-DR System
comes with a Dell Optiplex 760 Small Form Factor computer. The
“small form factor” computer fits into the smallest of areas where
space is of a concern, especially behind the x-ray operator control
area. The dimensions of the “small form factor” computer are: 3
1/2” W x 12” H x 13” D
The specifications are
as follows:
- Optilplex 760, Core
Duo
- E700-2.53 GHz, 3M,
1066FSB
- 4 GB, NON-ECC, 800
MHz DDR2, 2X2GB OPTIPLEX
- 256 MB ATI RADEON HD
W/DVI GRAPHICS CARD
- 250 GB SATA 3.0 B/S
AND 8 MB DATA BURST (STORES 7,500 IMAGES)
- WINDOWS XP PRO SP3
WITH WINDOWS VISTA
- USB MOUSE & KEYBOARD
- 8XDVD+/- RW
- Monitor: Dell Ultra
Sharp 2007FP, 1600X1200 RES, 20” LCD, adjustable monitor stand, also
capable of wall mount
Other monitor sizes
also available: 24”, 27” and 30”
Gateway-DR Extras
Some of the “extras”
that we include in the Gateway DR System are things that we have
found that 90% of our customers needed at the time of installation.
1. 15
ft. extension cord for power supply to the sensor. Most offices did
not have an 110V outlet
within 4 ft of the wall
stand to plug the sensor into.
2. Surge
protector power strip for the computer and/or sensor.
3. USB
Booster extension cable, 15ft. – The sensor comes with a 15ft USB
Cable that runs from the sensor (in the
wall stand) to the
computer. This leaves about 10ft of cable length (after cable drape
from the wall stand). Most offices have the computer on the
opposite end of the room from the wall stand (in operator control
area). The USB Cable would then need to be extended. You cannot
just add a USB extension cable; it has to be a “booster” cable
because the signal degrades after 15 ft.
The Gateway DR Systems come with 1 15ft USB Booster Cable.
Additional cables can be added (up to total length of 80ft) as
required, for an additional cost.
